Hundreds of athletes, officials, and volunteers will descend on Andy Livingstone Park in Vancouver this weekend for a tournament that promotes inclusion, respect, and equality at the Vancouver International Soccer Festival.
The tournament will bring together 40 teams from across Canada, the United States, international schools, and multi-cultural communities to showcase diversity, cultural harmony, and have a great time kicking the ball around.
While this will be the ninth year the tournament has been running, 2013 marks its first year as a Fair Trade Accredited Sporting Event by Fairtrade Canada! This means that the Festival has aimed to include fair trade products wherever possible. All matches will be played with Fairtrade certified soccer balls from Social Conscience, and Fairtrade certified food and beverage options will be available to all attendees and participants. Ethical Bean is proud to be sponsoring the event with Fairtrade and Organic coffee for Saturday and Sunday mornings.
If you’re in Vancouver, come by Andy Livingstone Park between 9:00am to 9:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Come and enjoy globally inspired cuisine, a beer and wine garden, house DJ, wide-screen tournament TVs, games, and more.
Admission to the festival is FREE and the weather forecast is incredible. See you there!
