Friday, February 28th – March 5th
CiTR’s 2014 Fundrive – CiTR Radio UBC – CiTR 101.9 FM is the broadcasting voice of the University of British Columbia (UBC), bringing alternative programming to over two million listeners from Bellingham to Squamish, Point Grey to Langley. They are student run, community supported and nationally recognized. CiTR is partially funded by UBC student fees however they depend on the money raised from Fundrive- their on-air fundraiser. Thursday, February 27th – March 2nd
17th Annual Barry Naimark Charity Skins Bonspeil – Vancouver Curling Club (VCC). The bonspiel is an opportunity for the VCC to raise funds for a local charity. This year funds raised will be give to Pets and Friends. Pets and Friends is a free pet visitation, on individual or group basis, to long-term care facilities in the Lower Mainland.

Diversity Health Fair – Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of BC (AMSSA) This free, family-friendly event features over 50 health and wellness related exhibitors, interactive culinary demonstrations, health screenings and onsite tests, spectacular multicultural entertainment and children’s activities. The Fair aims to provide newcomers, immigrants and ethno-cultural communities with access to a wide range of health and wellness resources, presented in a number of languages including Cantonese, French, Korean, Mandarin, Persian/Farsi, Punjabi, Spanish and Vietnamese. 27th Annual Equality Breakfast – West Coast LEAF. Every year West Coast LEAF puts together the Equality Breakfast as a celebration of their achievements and to raise money for their upcoming projects. They are the only organization in BC that uses the law to further women’s equality. They work to end discrimination against women using equality rights, litigation, law reform, and public legal education. BCLMA’s biennial conference – British Columbia Legal Management Association – This year’s theme is Law Firm Leadership and the conference will provide their members with an opportunity for education, networking and sharing current issues affecting the legal industry today. The BCLMA is expecting to welcome approximately 100 legal managers to this years conference.
Saturday, March 8th
Bridge to Success Gala – S.U.C.C.E.S.S. assists new immigrants with settlement; provides counseling and support to families and individuals with personal issues; promotes personal development of children and youth; facilitates social participation of parents and seniors in the community; helps the unemployed in job and career development; facilitates entrepreneurs in business development; delivers education and employment related training; and promotes social change through community development and advocacy. S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation hopes to raise $500,000 from this signature gala in support of services and programs at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Learn more about the gala here.
Workout to Conquer Cancer – benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation will feature a full-day of upbeat group exercise classes at the Richmond Olympic Oval in support of life-saving cancer research taking place at the BC Cancer Agency. The BC Cancer Foundation is the fundraising partner of the BC Cancer Agency and the largest charitable funder of cancer research in this province. Annual Gala + Silent Auction – Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) – The CCPA is an independent, non-partisan research institute concerned with issues of social, economic and environmental justice. Emerging Leaders Forum – Leading Change Canada is a Canada-wide movement started by young environmental and sustainability professionals working together to catalyze action and influence positive change locally, regionally and internationally. 2014 Ski Challenge – The Ronald McDonald House of BC is a safe and secure home away from home for out of town families with seriously ill children who must receive treatment at BC Children’s Hospital.
