Friday, May 2nd

Art World Expo 2014 MAB Ventures Inc.–  An annual large scale art exposition and fundraiser featuring 100+ artists, vendors, performances and silent auction with proceeds benefiting the Make and Break Arts Foundation. Visit their facebook page or follow them on twitter at @ArtWorldExpo.

Friday, May 2nd – 11th

DOXA Documentary Film Festival – DOXA  – Featuring Vancouver, Canadian, and World Premiere documentaries from around the Globe.  DOXA is a Vancouver based non-profit, charitable society devoted to presenting independent and innovative documentaries to Vancouver audiences. Visit their website, learn more about them on their facebook page, or follow them on twitter @doxafestival.

Wednesday, May 7th and Saturday May 9th

Annual Spring Bazaar – Banfield Pavilion Extended Care Unit of Vancouver General Hospital – The Annual Spring Bazaar is in two different locations this year; Wednesday May 7th at the Jim Pattison Pavilion and Friday May 9th in Banfield Pavilion. The Pavilion opened in 1972 and is situated on the Vancouver General Hospital campus. It is a four-storey building accommodating 192 residents living on three floors. Their goal is to provide stimulating, individualized programs that help each person live a great life.

Saturday, May 10th

Royal Canadian Legion Annual Fundraiser for Branch 44 Royal Canadian Legion Branch 44 – This is a unique Branch of the Legion in that it was created to take care of the needs of veterans who returned from WWI and WWWII with chest disabilities.  In most cases that was tuberculosis. They now help fundraise to do charitable work in the community helping underprivileged seniors and children live healthy happy lives. Learn more on their facebook page.

Saturday, May 10th

Smorgasband: A cornucopia of musical falvours – The Rainbow Concert Band – The Rainbow Concert Band is Canada’s only LGBT band. Performing around Vancouver and BC for over 24 years, the band is dedicated to the pursuit of inclusiveness, camaraderie, and making beautiful music together. Thursday, May 22nd

Annual School Year End BBQ FundraiserChief Maquinna Elementary School PAC – This fundraiser helps the school raise funds for programs and outings for their children that they would otherwise not be able to afford. This year they are hoping to raise enough funds to provide the school and educators with new technology and tools that will enrich the children’s learning experiences. Saturday, May 24th

Spring into Art Fundraiser – Richmond Art Gallery – The Richmond Art Gallery is visited by 25,000 patrons annually and exhibits works by remarkable Canadian and international artists. It is free, fascinating, and close at hand. The event will be held between 6-9pm and is open to the public. Learn more about this event on Richmond Art Gallery’s facebook page.

Sunday, May 25th

Oasis Shaughnessy 8kLions Gate Road Runners  – An 8k run organized by the Lions Gate Road Runners in support of the BC Epilepsy Society. The certified 8k course runs through the undulating, historic, residential streets of Shaughnessy and Kerrisdale. Learn more on their facebook page or follow them on twitter at @LGRoadRunners

SOS Children’s Village RunRotary Club of Richmond  – SOS Children’s Villages is the world’s largest organization caring for orphaned and abandoned children. They support foster children and vulnerable youth because they believe every child should belong to a family and grow with love, respect, and security. They are holding their 6th Annual 2k, 5k, and 10k run at the Richmond Olympic Oval Plaza. Friday, May 30th

Dry Grad 2014Delta Secondary School  – Delta Secondary is a public high school in Ladner, British Columbia, Canada. This year they are organizing dry grad for their graduates. Visit their facebook page to learn more.
