Ethical Bean Coffee is thrilled to share the news of three amazing wins this week in recognition of our work and support for Fairtrade!
We cannot send enough thanks to the Vancouverites who voted the Ethical Bean Coffee Café on Kootenay Street the city’s Best Fair Trade Café for the second year running. Tucked away in a corner in a light industrial zone in Vancouver we sometimes wonder if people know we’re even here, and this recognition really shows that the fabulous coffee, locally made and organic snacks, and great staff are celebrated. If you haven’t been before, please consider this your invitation. Weldon, Loreto, and Kevin are waiting to see you at 1315 Kootenay Street in East Vancouver where you can see for yourself what the buzz is about (and depending on the number of espressos, leave buzzing, too!)
The week previous found some of the Ethical Bean Coffee team at the beautiful Pangaea restaurant in Toronto for Fairtrade Canada’s Annual Awards Ceremony. We are so excited and proud to be the recipients of two awards in 2014! Presented by Shannon Brown, Fairtrade Canada’s Director of Business Development, Ethical Bean’s co-founder and CEO Lloyd Bernhardt accepted the awards for Ethical Bean for Licensee of the Year and for Excellence in Consumer Education to a room full of Fairtrade advocates, businesses, and supporters from across Canada. Stay tuned to our social media pages for more pictures soon!
As a roaster of 100% Fairtrade certified coffees since 2003, Fairtrade has been a big part of what we do since day one. We are honoured to be recognized for this work and look forward to continuing the raise the bar not only in ethical sourcing, but also in fabulous, specialty grade coffees. As we like say to say in the office, doing something good for the world should be rewarded with something that tastes spectacular. We hope that you feel the same whenever you drink Ethical Bean Coffee.
