Friday to Sunday, July 3rd – 5th
Vancouver International Soccer FestivalOne Team – At One Team we believe that soccer has an incredible power, which can be used to make this world a better place. Use this powerful platform to promote peace, equality, health, and education for everyone. Make the game better, take it to the world, and you will be fostering a better world.
Through our annual international soccer tournament, and a variety of partner-supported grassroots soccer programs and projects, One Team works to promote global peace and social change, particularly in communities around the world affected by war, poverty, and gender inequality. Saturday, July 11th
Entrepreneurship 101Simon Fraser University – We aim to show how accessible entrepreneurship is to everyone, even those with a non-business background. Our event will showcase local entrepreneurs and their experiences, while also giving talks to attendees about the various aspects from entrepreneurship including marketing, the power of teams and much more! Summer is Here Online AuctionNorth Shore Women’s Centre – The mission of the North Shore Women’s Centre is to improve the social, economic and political status of women, and to encourage and support self-empowerment by acting as a resource and a catalyst for change, from a Feminist perspective.
Look for an Ethical Bean giftpack during the online auction, based on the website 32auctions, which aims to raise $2500 to support our programs and services for women on the North Shore. NSWC offers a free drop-in resource centre with access to information, referrals and peer-counseling, Emergency Food and Toiletry Supply Program, Single Mom’s Support Group, Family Law Clinic, Girls’ Empowerment Camp, and Health and Wellness Program and more. Wednesday to Friday, July 15th – 17th
Blueberry FestUBC Farm – Feeling Blue? Join us on July 15th, 16th and 17th outside the UBC Bookstore for some good eats including a blueberry pancake breakfast; scones, muffins, polenta cake, tarts and crisps, all complimented perfectly with some delicious Ethical Bean Fairtrade certified organic coffee. Sunday, July 19th
Bus Stop HopSpinal Cord Injury BC – Spinal Cord Injury BC (formerly BC Paraplegic Association), helps people with spinal cord injury (SCI) or related physical disabilities and their families adjust, adapt and thrive, whether they are dealing with a new injury or struggling with the ongoing challenges of living and aging with a physical disability. Through our services, we provide answers, information and unique community experiences.
SCI BC would like to request support for our upcoming event ‘Bus Stop Hop’, on July 19th. Inspired by the Amazing Race, the Bus Stop Hop (BSH) is a one-day event that has participants racing across the city, using accessible transportation, completing fun activities and collecting points, and Ethical Bean Coffee will be served to fuel the participants during the event. The BSH is meant to encourage people with SCI or related physical disabilities to become more comfortable and familiar with all the accessible transportation options available in Metro Vancouver.
